| Project Information: | The ship models constructed for the show were massive in detail, and painstakingly accurate to period history. I acted as Lighting Lead on this unique 70mm special-venue show destined for a new museum in Osaka, Japan. Fairly ambitious for the small crew involved, this show re-creates 15th century Japanese historic high-seas trading events using CG Arete water, CG ship models w/ cloth simulation sail dynamics, and live-action talent integrated into the scenes. Striving for a stylized semi-photorealism, the shots came out very beautifully. |
